Nice Trout Rising

Tangled with some some nice trout today- lots rising.

Crappy weather but nice to be out anyway. Very peaceful on the water. Plenty of wildlife around, everything from a couple of deer to an osprey.

Changed up to Shad gear to investigate a deep run and they were pretty willing too.

Should have mowed the lawn but it really wasn't a nice enough day to do yard work...

really, there when it comes to mowing the lawn (or any household chores) or fishin, the choice is obvious.

Got out for a few hours myself report to follow ,left the camera in my mates car . When it comes to mowing I sorted that by putting astroturf ,free's up more time by the river !

Tony are you kidding, Astroturf ?

You Sir, are a genius.

Not for thinking of putting in Astroturf, but for being able to convince your significant other that it was the right thing to do.

You have raised the bar for the rest of us.

Cheers,
Steve

You see Steve it's very wet over here at times! so when the kids go in the garden they come back covered in mud
and the Mrs ends up washing , so Astroturf? kids can play in the garden no mud ,no washing for her in doors and more time on the riverside for yours truley . Easy to sell when you know the rite way to go about it

That makes sense Tony.

I tried,
"But Honey, you knew how lazy I was before you married me."

Not such a good choice in retrospect.

Steve

OK boys, your gettinga little off topic!
Is it just me or are the local NS rivers just a little high this year.
I was out golfing in Middle Musquodoboit today and several holes were flooded as the river is at record heights.

Right you are Mr.Woods.

Well the Shubie and Nine Mile have gone from perfect to a little high in the last two weeks. I'm going out tonight and will let you know what I see. The Medway was a bit high in late April too but I have not been back in a few weeks so not sure what is happening down on the South Shore.

The water may be up a little but man what a good year it has been for trout so far. They seem to be everywhere.
The Shad have been red hot or very cold for me so far. Tonight should be good though. gotta run.

Cheers,
Steve
