Whale Watching

I’ve been away for a few days doing some work travel.
Here are some pictures from a whale watching excursion that was part of the trip.

I saw a few whales but I didn’t get any good pictures of them. All told I saw seals, porpoises, a bald eagle and of course the whales.

The circular cages are part of a salmon farm just up the coast from Digby.

Was hoping to get out trout fishing this weekend but the weather has been foul. The forecast is calling for rain from Saturday until next Thursday.

Too bad you did not see more whales as they are really cool, but at least your were out on the water with fine weather.
Your bad weather is the craps. We have had terrible weather for over a week and the sea is too rough to fish.
Tight lines and sunny days

Hi Fish Whisperer,

I did see a few Pilot Whales but was not fast enough to get any pictures.

Gotta' say it was a great day out on the water.

The salmon farm was pretty interesting too.

Cheers,
Steve

Did you, by chance, see any sharks?.I believe they are almost as exciting as whales to see in their natural habitat.

Hi Sharks;
Yeah, I agree.
Didn't see any sharks that trip. We have a fair number of sharks near the coast here mostly later in the summer but they are hard to see unless you chum for them or go scuba diving and happen to stumble across one. I've done some catch and release fishing for them and mainly caught Blue Sharks in the 9 to 11 foot range.

Cheers,
Steve
