Has any one seen any fish yet? It still early but with this weather ...
I was up to to the Shubenacadie River today. No sign of shad. There were a few trout in the Nine Mile River.
any shad in the shubie yet ? just got back from maryland catching the hickory shad now i want to catch some real shad.
I have not heard of anyone seeing any yet. I have not been there this week though. Anyone got any news?
Tried in enfield today for an hour and a half. No sign of fish yet.
April 23rd,
Stopped in Elmsdale yesterday on my way through. No sign of Shad and no fishermen in the honey hole below the bridge.
I saw a picture of a big Striped Bass caught in the Shubenacadie River yesterday, The guy said he caught a bunch of fish. If the Striped Bass are in, the Shad can't be far behind.
I saw some fishermen pounding the Stewiacke River today as I drove past coming back from PEI. I didn't stop to speak to them but they looked like they were rigged for Stipers.
Any day now!

April 24th-The shad are in Elmsdale. I fished the junction of the Shubie and the Nine Mile River today and got lots of fish. Not many up in the smaller river yet but a lot down in the lower pools.
I'm going again tomorrow.
There have been Shad in the Shubie since April 12th. Just not consistent numbers. Shubie and Nine Mile are choked with Shad, right now, due to very low water conditions. Only good thing is the water temp is still relatively low. Pray for rain guys!
Are the shad still running in Hilden? (May 15).

They are still going strong in Shubenacadie and the Nine Mile on May 15th so probably. Does anyone know for sure about Hilden?

Shad are goin strong in middleton for the past week or 2. Caught over 20 in 2-3 hours. Not bad considering the amount if people the shores were littered with.
